To put it simply, the HOVR Machina 2 from Under Armour is a daily training workhorse. It can handle long miles on the road, easy days, and can even pick up the pace if you want it to. It's not really something for smashing PBs. So, if that's what you're after, experts recommend the Velociti Wind instead. For beginners, it can be an entry-level racing shoe too.

When the first Machina was released, it had a warm reception, except that runners found the midsole a tad too stiff. This time around, UA took that feedback and applied these changes to the Machina 2: 

  • The HOVR foam is made slightly softer making sure there isn't any wobbling during runs, the Pebax plate remains in the midsole. 
  • For a more comfortable feel, the upper has been updated. It is now lined with Rush lining, which is the brand's high-performance clothing line, promoting blood flow while keeping the muscles feeling good. 

The result? A traditional feeling ride, but more forgiving.
