History of the Lacoste Europa

Lacoste is a French clothing company founded by tennis player René Lacoste and businessman André Gillier in 1933. The business started out from René's idea of producing short-sleeved polo shirts to play tennis. The sport had strict rules when it came to dressing codes, and that included a long-sleeved top, which René found to be very uncomfortable during a tennis match. So he asked the wearing of André, who invented the cotton knit and utilized it in creating the now-famous Lacoste polo shirt. From there the brand just became bigger and bigger.

Lacoste Europa Outsole

The polo shirt with a crocodile logo on the left chest part became Lacoste's emblem and frontrunner, but it's just the tip of the brand's functional yet fashionable product range. In 1952 Lacoste moved to the US and soon after became a status symbol for the elite who are into sports. With their success, the brand undistinguishable its product inventory to include jackets, perfumes, and shoes.

Lacoste Europa Heel

One of their many footwear models is the Lacoste Europa, a sneaker that dons an iconic tennis style. Staying true to its court heritage, its minimally designed upper comes in various monochromatic colorways that are easy to dress. The shoe is also available in different iterations such as textured uppers and tricolored accents.
