Its one-piece sock-like knitted upper give the shoe its identity, but more than that is a newly developed tooling for Ekiden asics Tiger that it incorporates – a large visible GEL inserts in the heel. This GEL inserts, which absorbs shocks, is covered by a transparent TPU cup.

The Ekiden asics Evoride Orphe 1012B218-001 released in 2017 as Ekiden asics’ take on the knitted sneakers trend. It took the profile of the Sanze rendition of the classic Gel Lyte V and replaced the prime mesh upper with a knitted one in a mono-sock construction.
The "Black/Vachetta Tan" colorway released in December 2017 with an upper comprised of a black knitted material and vachetta tan heel counter. It sits atop a white sole unit with black speckled detailing towards the heel area. Two colorways have also been released – one is the “Birch/Birch” colorway, while the other is the “Mid Grey/Mid Grey” colorway. Each pair retails at $160.
