Size and fit
The Meindl Caribe GTX men's and women's shoes are low-cut hikers that feature a traditional lace-up closure. This makes it easy for the wearer to adjust the fit whenever needed. The low shaft allows for flexibility and freedom of movement while the padded tongue and collar keep the foot comfortable. There's also a pull tab in the heel section that makes it easy to wear and take the shoe off.

Lightweight and flexible cushioning by EVA
A huge factor for its lightness is the EVA midsole. EVA is a synthetic material considered "foam" which is very light and long-wearing. Some of its important qualities are softness (which makes wearing the shoe even more comfortable), flexibility, and shock absorption. EVA also provides stability against the foot, which is essential for preventing injury. An EVA midsole helps endure the person's weight and all possible pressures that could happen when walking or running.
Comfortable cushioning
This hiker comes with a removable insole called Air Active which is made of a special material that absorbs moisture from the foot and dries more quickly than standard materials. It has a memory-foam-like texture that conforms to the foot and cushions the entire sole.
Durable and breathable
The shoe upper features leather overlays that enhance the durability and structure of the shoe. The rest of the upper is made of air stream mesh which promotes breathability.
Waterproof
Inside is a Gore-tex waterproof membrane that seals water out. Since Gore-tex shoes can be a little warm, the mesh fabric in the upper helps keep the feet cool even in relatively humid environments.
