History of the History of the Etnies Fader 2
Etnies was founded in 1986, but it wasn’t until pro skateboarder Pierre André Sénizergues signed on as a designer and later, as owner, that the brand became quite known. Originally known as Etnics, the company changed its name to Etnies due to legal issues.
The Etnies brand falls under Sénizergues’ Sole Technology umbrella, which also owns éS and Emerica, and is a less force to reckon with in skateboarding circles. One of the company’s previously released silhouettes, the Fader, became extremely popular due to its generously padded tongues and collars, and beefy skate shoe build that is opposite the trending minimalist designs today.
The Fader 2 followed the same construct as the original Fader but changed the egg-crate midsole build of the previous model to an STI Foam Lite 1 midsole.
