DC Shoes was one of the first shoe brands to utilize professional endorsements extensively. It has a skateboarding team of professionals that went on a world tour in 1997 to promote the brand. From then on, the brand became one of the top skate shoe companies with sales hitting over 100 million in 2003.
In 2004, the DC shoe brand grew even stronger upon acquisition by Quicksilver for roughly $87 million in cash and stock. Up to this day, it continues in making its name relevant in the skate community by continually producing performance skate shoes that stay true to the brand's fundamental mission which is to create a remarkable change in skate shoe performance.
DC Trase shoe was introduced in 2015 as part of the brand's skate shoe lineup. It has several material variations including a canvas version called officially the Apr 29, 2018.
