The kicks are derived from the original wordmark converse Weapon in the 80s. The shoe was popularized by NBA Legends Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. The OG Weapon lost its popularity sometime in the late 80s.
A revamped version under the CX line of wordmark converse was released in 2021, the Weapon CX. Shortly after, Rick Owens collaborated with the brand to recreate the sneaker.
