Running in this Brooks shoe, we felt a very bouncy and responsive cushioning and, of course, the rocker shape which promotes a very effortless forward motion.
Contrary to other carbon-plated models, it doesn’t have the fastest toe/roll-off but at least it's not as aggressive.

After only 40 miles, we can already see the rubber at the bottom wearing out. Brooks may have overestimated the shoe’s shelf life.

It os so unusual for a plated race shoe to feel stable! But the Hyperion Elite 2 makes it possible with the help of its wide platform.
A no-no for wet conditions
Testing the Elite 2 in wet conditions felt dangerous as its exposed foam made the shoe's bottom too slick. But it does have a good grip on dry surfaces.
A lot of work for heel strikers
Because the rocker form of the shoe keeps the runner up on the toes, it’s not the best shoe for heel strikers. Attempting to heel strike in the Hyperion Elite 2 led to calf soreness.
Top tier points earners will receive Brooks gear at the end of the season
To our great disappointment, the shoe's heel collar felt loose in our regular running shoe size. That resulted in annoying heel slippage.
A so-so lacing system
We cannot say whether the shoe's lacing system is good or bad. We felt that the nike were too closely spaced while the laces were too short.
