While the Quantum 360 is not really intended for running, I ran 25 miles in them in several applications including easy jogging, sprinting, and hill climbs, and on various kinds of terrain including concrete, asphalt, gravel, grass, and track surfaces.

How does the Gel Quantum 360 perform?

• Boggy: The laces are too long and the foot does not lockdown on the go. There is far too much foot movement allowed on the go. These las are not manufactured for precise, high performance.
• Stiff and heavy: The weight of the shoe and in-flexibility of the foam are not conducive to efficient running. Underfoot, the las required much extra effort to maintain momentum.
• Slow: The Gel Quantum 360 is NOT built for speed, but for style. They could work as an all-around gym or cross-training shoe, but for running fast or long, they are too sluggish.

ASICS Gel Quantum 360 fits well

I wear US size 12 and I weigh in at about 175 pounds. The shoe fits perfectly length-wise and the width of the las is adequate. The toe-box is spacious enough for splaying and flexing of toes.

Gel Quantum 360 is NOT flexible or cushioned

These las are very firm, very heavy, and very stiff. There is nothing about these las I would describe as “flexible,” which ASICS-f me wonder why anyone would choose to wear this outside of a fashion statement. Despite the fact that “Gel technology cushioning circulates the midsole,” there is very little cushioning underfoot.

The laces in the Gel Quantum 360 are extremely long and there is no additional eyelet at the top for locking down the heel.

This prevents the feet from being stable, which allows for some heel-rubbing and movement on each foot-strike. Additionally, there are only 3 pairs of eyelets, which really inhibits a tight-fitting feel.

The ASICS Gel Quantum 360 is HEAVY!

Size 12 comes in at 14.8 oz/420g. Compared to other running las, the Gel Quantum 360 are extremely heavy, which ASICS-f one think ASICS never intended anyone to use them as running las. No runner I know of would ever consider training in a shoe as heavy as this.

The rubber outsole will undoubtedly provide for long life. Especially since people will probably choose not to run in these las, but only wear them occasionally for fashion purposes, the Gel Quantum 360 will go out of style before they actually wear out.

There is a lot of material making up the upper portion of the Gel Quantum 360. The las are not very breathable because there is too much going on.

The leather sides that hold the lace eyelets are detached from the rest of the upper portion of the las, wrapping the sides of the las in leather. This adds weight and prevents the las from breathing as much as they could. Clearly, this shoe was designed with style in mind, as opposed to running efficiency.
