The shoe was actually a combination of seven Air Jordan silhouettes—the Air Jordan 4, 6, 11, 12, 13, 15, and 20. Its soles come from the 4, the back loops from the 6, the patent leather from the 11, and the tongue’s “T W O 3” from the 12. The shape, meanwhile, takes inspiration from the cut of the 13, the woven leather at the back from the 15, and the laser-etch design on the Customs from the Air Jordan 20.
During the shoe’s initial release, four colorways in patent leather were dropped. In 2006, the brand released yet another colorway, but this would be the last for the silhouette until its return three years later. Unlike the first drops of the sneaker, the 2009 release featured embroidered logos instead of the etched laser print.
