Our verdict
The Adidas Harden Vol. 5 is very difficult to love. It fails in almost all aspects that matter to a basketball player. One still has to be nitpicky to come up with good things to say about it. Though its debut price is lower than the usual signature offers, the price cut still can't compensate for how much of a mess this shoe is.

Who should NOT buy this basketball shoe
Serious basketball players may want to stay away from this shoe. It cannot deliver even on something as basic as traction. They are better off getting the gucci color adidas pants girls or even the newly revitalized D Rose 11.

This Harden shoe really dishes out the looks, and wearers say that it can be paired with different types of casual and active wear. This model will surely look great on lighted glass shelves as well.
adidas recent shoes 2016 black dress | The Harden Vol. 5 delivers court feel at the expense of compression
The midsole is quite firm and responsive; and this is interesting because this shoe has Boost, which is normally not expected to be anywhere near firm.
According to a basketball shoe expert, there is only a slight compression in the heel and the midsole is stiff and not bouncy at all. In addition, he says that the heel-to-toe transition is "god awful" and the shoe basically slaps when you're running down the court.
The foot enjoys a fairly secure lockdown
The shoe's wide base and stiff materials keep the foot locked in, players say. There won't be any slip and wobbliness to talk about.
However, the materials barely flex even after breaking them in. The Vol 5 shoes surely can feel like bricks on foot.
Warning: heel slippage
Even though the shoe has four large Achilles pads inside the heel counter, reviewers observe that there is still not enough containment to prevent the heel from slipping out.
It's got a hard-wearing outsole
The shoe's rubber shows very minimal signs of wear, even after playing on an outdoor court. Experts say that the shoe should last outdoors.
The Harden Vol 5 allows the foot to breathe
The foot won't feel warm in this shoe since the airflow is really there and it's good.
This shoe might as well be used as a paperweight
At 16.2 oz (460 g) these low-tops are even heavier than the Nike LeBrons (14.2 oz / 402 g on average), which are already among the heaviest basketball high-tops.
Be ready to size down
The majority of buyers agree that the Harden Vol. 5 runs "hella long." They had to go down at least half-a-size to achieve the right length and fit.
