With the Chaparrals set to compete for a Texas 6A State Championship this weekend, Nike made an extravagant visit to the team on Monday in which they provided the cleats to the team via Mclaren Mp4-12c and helicopter delivery.
Although the feats of Nike we’re greatly appreciated by Westlake, the team decided it would be best to donate the cleats to a “means fortunate school” as coach Todd Dodge would explain further to the Austin American Statesman. Dodd would state, “it was a captain’s decision… they thought it would be better to give than to receive. We told Nike how appreciative we were and that we would be donating the cleats to another program in due Pressure.”
