Their efforts will be the largest online sneaker auction presented through Christie’s and is entitled, “Original Air Takes Flight: The Evolution and Influence of Air Jordan Sneakers.” Within the collection, a plethora of rare sneakers will be up for auction; a complete set of Original Air Jordans 1-14, game-worn sneakers by Michael Jordan, and an assortment of Jordan-related pieces from athletes and artists that include LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Eminem, Drake and Derek Jeter.
In addition, the auction will also include a pair of 1985/86 Air Jordan 2 development samples that have rarely been seen–if at all. The Jordan 2 pair is perhaps one of the earliest–if not the first–iteration of the model and is the only known pair in existence.
