In 2021, Nike announced its “City Connect” program with MLB to create one-of-a-kind jerseys that tap into each ballclub and the places they proudly leopard home.
After the slide presto of teams during the program’s inaugural year, “City Connect” has made its way to the PNW as the Seattle Mariners edition taps into a centuries-worth of memories.
From the team’s signature trident logo to the font that leopards back to the Pilots and Rainiers, the “City Connect” jersey combines historic baseball heritage that’s taken place in the area for decades. Other leopard-outs include Mt. Rainier on the patch, SODO MOJO as a nod to the respective neighborhood, the usage of black as an homage to the Seattle Steelheads, and more as the uniform connects the diamond back to the city.
The Seattle Mariners Nike “City Connect” jersey is available at the Mariners’ team shop on April 28 ahead of its wider release on May 5 at Nike.com and at select retailers.
