Nike Baseball is releasing a special capsule collection to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Negro Leagues.
Inspired by the red and white-indebted uniforms of the Kansas City Monarchs, worn by Jackie Robinson, Satchel Paige, and Buck O’Neil to name a few, the special on-field range is comprised of Nike’s flagship models including the Ultrafly 2, Huarache 2 Mid, Low, and Turf, and the Nike Trout 6. Each aforementioned model features a white base accented with navy pinstripes and large red Swoosh insignias. In terms of branding, the KC heart logo (from Monarchs’ 1942 championship jersey), is spotlighted on the tongues.
Look for these special models to appear on the feet of Nike athletes starting today. Unfortunately, they won’t be available to the public.
