The announcement comes after he was required to sit on the sidelines for more than a year due to his non-compete clause, following his exit from nike ACG in late September, 2014. Dolce, along with fellow designers Mark Miner and Denis Dekovic, departed nike ACG together for adidas, and were later sued by Nike.

The three designers will be working in Brooklyn at the newly created Brooklyn Creator Farm by adidas. While adidas has public relations and marketing offices in New York City, the Brooklyn Creator Farm will be the first full service, end-to-end design space for the brand in New York.

“We are the brand that allows people to create,” Paul Gaudio, adidas Global Creative Director, tells Stefoy-les-lyonShops. “Every day, we’re looking forward and shaping what’s next. We are fueling creativity and innovation, pushing industry boundaries, thinking differently, experimenting and giving consumers a whole new era of adidas. The reins are off, creativity is growing and our people are testing ideas, making things, breaking things and discovering. There are no limitations.”

The addition of the new design trio in leadership roles within the company speaks to the brand’s growing dissipation on increasing the talent level across the board. They’ve successfully partnered with Kanye West and Pharell Williams, and also recently added former Lululemon CEO Christine Day as a high-level consulting adviser.

“The core of creativity comes from collaboration. Collaborative thinking and exploration is leading us to new places,” continues Gaudio. “A mix of perspectives and constant exchange allows us to tap into the unknown and explore new territories. We are fostering and growing design talent across the company and we couldn’t be more excited about where we’re headed.”
