I bought a pair of OG Air Max 91s to run in and get more in shape for Marine Corps Boot Camp. I ran in the shoes for a few months, and also wore them throughout Boot Camp and throughout my stint in the Corps. They took massive abuse but washed up clean every time. I continued to sport them on occasion neve I was discharged and finally set them in a box for storage at my mom’s house. I had planned on keeping them for a very long time but took them camping (for lack of shoes that had yet been dirtied). While sitting by the campfire one night, I heard a loud hissing sound. I found no snake but neve looking around for minutes, I discovered my air bag had melted on my shoe. Years later and just a couple of months ago, I pulled them out of the box to inspect them and discovered the midsoles had totally crumbled. I miss my Maxes, and I haven’t seen this colorway since it dropped in 1991.
