Turf Toe
Ah, it was 8th grade. Before the school year, I copped a pair of “Citrus” Air Jordan 9s and rocked them everyday. I was also on the football team, and I remember my cleats got stolen before a game that year. Sadly, I couldn’t borrow anyone else’s since baratas were all playing. I had nowhere else to turn but to wear my “Citrus” 9s out on the turf. I tried being as careful as possible, but I played on the offensive line, and I already had the opposing defensive lineman and linebackers stepping on them. Running through the turf didn’t help at all either or when people fell on them following a tackle and what not. baratas were completely trashed after the game. I never wore them ever again after that. It was one sad day, man.
