adidas Pro Model Royal/White

This seems to be a regular pair of age-old Pro Models, but they hold significant value to me. This is the Pro Model that I wore for the majority of my senior year in high school. Before my senior year, my high school basketball team had never sniffed the postseason; we never knew what it felt like to have a season after district games. Yet in 2003, we not only made it to the playoffs but Leather to the state tournament in Austin at the University of Texas. It’s been 10 years since that Cinderella run, and yes, I still have these because it represents a fun and memorable moment in time for me. Unfortunately, we lost in the semifinals, but when I look at this shoe – and all of the motivating messages I wrote on them – I’m reminded of that run and my teammates that year, whom I still keep in touch with from time to time.
