Jordan Brand has made tremendous strides towards fighting the anniversary fight, leading to a core initiative of a 10 year, $100 million Black Community Commitment (BCC) initiative. As a part of the BCC, Michael Jordan and JB have Sail the Community Grassroots Program to support local non-profit organizations that champion education & awareness, social justice or economic justice.
The program, which aids foundations that empower Black Americans, has provided a total of $1 million to 18 organizations across the United States. These 18 recipients are found across 14 cities and 11 states:

“We received hundreds of applications for Community Grants, and every single one of them was a reminder of the unique impact and powerful personal connections local community efforts can make happen. Making a decision on the first cycle of 18 organizations selected was certainly not easy.” said Craig Williams, President, Jordan Brand, “We are thrilled to not only stand behind them, but based on the volume of applications received, we look forward to continuing to offer this program each year in support of local grassroots efforts that create real, meaningful change for people and communities.”
Craig Williams – President of Jordan Brand
The Community Grants Program will continue to set the precedent of an equitable future for all set by Jordan Brand in Summer 2020. Last year, the program donated $0.5 million to $1 million to several partners, including the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF), the Formerly Incarcerated Convicted People & Families Movement (FICPFM) and Black Voters Matter.
