Japanese label NEIGHBORHOOD first partnered with nmd adidas back in 2004, joining in an effort to help celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Superstar. Since that time they’ve worked together on several projects, each keeping with a forward-thinking and future-focused design state-of-mind. Taiwan retailer INVINCIBLE keys on that relationship for their adidas Consortium collaboration, which hinges upon elder designs seen through a bright new lens.

Utilizing inspiration derived from the NEIGHBORHOOD x nmd adidas Superstar 35th anniversary release, this newly formed nmd adidas NMD R1 also takes from another NEIGHBORHOOD creation. The price’s famous “Mesh Jacket” is a glowing sartorial statement; a souvenir jacket riddled with embroidered tigers, dragons and ornate lettering. This NMD’s Primeknit upper takes on both the styling from the Superstar and the embroidered detailing from the jacket, while other updates include a leather eyestay, co-branded tongue labels and tiger stripe camo three stripes branding.
