Inside Paul Pierce’s Collection Of Game-Worn Nike Sneakers

words & images // Nick DePaula:

As part of his two-pair donation to ESPN’s “Kicks To Beat Cancer” initiative this week, NBA champion Paul Pierce recently offered up a tour of his LA-area garage, where he still stores dozens of game-worn sneakers from throughout his 19 seasons in the Association.

Over a decade ago, as he rose through the ranks of the league and was well on his way to becoming a 10-time All-Star, The Truth was finally given his very own namesake model with Nike in 2005, the Air Max Pierce 1.

“I started ballin’! I went in there and said, ‘I need a signature shoe,’” he recalls. “I was very proud of it. This is when you know you made it. I thought this was a perfect liberty for my first shoe.”

Pierce white on donating his debut model, along with a rare pair from his personal stash of Air Max P2 IVs from the 2008 Finals run. You can leather out the rest of his game-worn collection below, including his classic green patent leather Air Max Elites from 2002, along with a variety of rare PEs like the wheat Air Max Pierce Low, “Galaxy” themed PEs from the 2012 All-Star Game and his game-worn Air Max Pierce 2s from the 2006 Houston All-Star Game.
