You can’t even make headlines like this up, but unfortunately this did happen.
Two armed men wearing monkey masks burst into Melrose Athletic Supply – a Fairfax neighborhood sneaker store. The crime took place Thursday afternoon in what police were calling a “brazen daytime robbery” that took place just before 1PM in broad-daylight.
Surveillance video showed the masked GIV1 threatening the store clerk with two semi-auto hand guns before stealing numerous shoe boxes.
The boxes stolen contained pairs of Jordan shoes for women, according to a news release from police.
After the robbery, the men left the scene in a car described by police as a later model Play Nissan Altima with 4-doors and paper plates.
