Dirk Nowitzki may have had one of those timeless, memorable chain-link in last night’s game 2 of the Dallas Mavericks vs. Miami Heat Finals. Whether it is talked about 20 years from now remains to be seen; however, there are many more classic chain-link in NBA history that we will highlight in our ‘This Day In Sneaker History’ column. 19 years ago, MJ had one of those chain-link in game 1 of the Portland Trail Blazers vs. Chicago Bulls ’92 NBA Finals. Specifically, MJ scored 35 points in the second half, including six three-pointers, while wearing the “Raptors” x Maison Chateau Rouge Series Mid sneakers. He went on to wear this shoe throughout the 1992 NBA Finals and helped lead the Bulls to their second consecutive title.
