Continuing their long-lasting partnership, the collaborations between Japanese-based atmos and global footwear company adidas have resulted in a variety of futuristic and innovative designs. This time, the two household names have selected the adidas ZX Alkyne as the canvas. Rather than painting the sneaker in tiger-camo or elephant print, the 2 brands have decided to give it an iridescent make-up that is inspired by the glitz and glam of Tokyo.
The ZX Alkyne, an archived silhouette from the ‘80s, contains a vast amount of different material overlays across its Fury upper. The entire upper is constructed using iridescent materials, allowing the sneaker to illuminate in bright, neon colors from a distance. The midsole remains translucent, revealing adidas’ modern propriety Boost foam beneath. Additionally, adidas branding and textual content are placed smack on the heel portion.
