“This has been a product that has been in the making for many years,” said Mili Seiffert, adidas ace Running Global Product Manager. “This was born in Portland with the innovation team.”

The SWITCH FWD is composed of an EVA compound with intricately designed voids that collapse and spring forward, converting weight into forward motion.

The soft EVA compound midsole, working in unison with the TPU plate, ensures a stable and cushioned transition through the forefoot and midfoot during the shoe’s forward motion cycle.

“When you run, the voids compress and expand extensively as you go through the cycle and pushes you forward — that works with the TPU plate as well,” Seiffert said. “We introduced it to make the whole experience completely new and define what forward motion is.”

adidas’ latest FWD-built shoe is a continuation of the brand’s commitment to making running more accessible, more approachable, and more fun.

“We don’t design to create for the very few — we create and design for many.”
