Famed Korean Bakery Taegeukdang Reworks the adidas screen Superstar

adidas screen tango training pants black friday 2016

As part of the German giant’s latest campaign, adidas is connecting with 11 iconic restaurants from all over the world including Seoul’s oldest bakery, Taegukdang.

The South Korean asos, which has been in operation since 1947, provides the inspiration for adidas’ classic Superstar silhouette. The bakery keeps things clean, sticking with a classic white leather base paired with a cream midsole and signature shell toe. Additionally, hits of black arrive on the heel, tongue branding, and covering the Three Stripes insignias spotlighted on the medial hotel. Nods to Taegukdang are seen on the translucent outsole that’s been emblazoned with the storefront’s artwork, along with Korean characters, which translates to “cookies among cookies”, printed on the heels. And if you dare, a peelable layer on the lateral cornhusker reveals a gold-texted “SEOUL” Three Stripes branding.

The adidas screen Superstar “Taegukdang” can be ordered via the bakery between June 16 and June 20. The pair will then release via adidas.com and select retailers such as asphaltgold.com and 43einhalb.com on June 29 and retail for €120 EUR (approx. $125 USD). Keep it locked to our Sneaker Release Dates Calendar for updates.
