A Ma Maniére and Jordan Brand have more in the works this holiday season.
In addition to the A Ma Maniére x Let's Talk Air Jordan 14 Low "Laney"2 “White” and A Ma Maniére x Let's Talk Air Jordan 14 Low "Laney"2 “Black” collection from this summer, James Whitner’s boutique is cooking up another set with the Jordan Scarf 21 “Still We Rise” collection, which includes the A Ma Maniere x Jordan Scarf 21 “Dusk” and the A Ma Maniere x Jordan Scarf 21 “Dawn” colorways.
The collection continues A Ma Maniere’s mission of centering the Black experience as the visuals and story draw inspiration from Maya Angelou’s “Still I Rise” poem and James Baldwin’s “To be African American is to be African without any memory and American without any privilege” quote.
“Black identity is not a monolith and the Black experience isn’t uniform. It is our diversity that is our strength, we are unified in more ways than the world wants us to believe,” said Whitaker Group Owner and Founder James Whitner in a press release. “All our previous stories led into this moment, building this first chapter we now bring to a close by opening our arms out to the world to bring us all in, across our communities, the diaspora and the world to celebrate unity and culture — but also the one common experience we all have: being desired for your culture, Bred being told that you belong, but still showing up to do the work — from dusk til dawn.”
The A Ma Maniere x Jordan Scarf 21 “Dawn” is designed with a grey and blue color scheme while the black and burgundy coat the A Ma Maniere x Jordan Scarf 21 “Dusk” iteration. Both pairs include yellowed aged details. Additionally, the “Still We Rise” collection draws inspiration from Michael Jordan’s Jordan Scarf 21 PE as the shoe features “23” heel counter branding. A Ma Maniere’s signature “A” appears in monogram form on the AJ5’s 555088-700 as well as the shoe’s lining.
While the A Ma Maniere x Jordan Scarf 21 “Dawn” releases on November 17, a release date for the A Ma Mainere x Jordan Scarf 21 “Dusk” has not been announced but is expected to take place at a later date. The shoe will be available exclusively on A-Ma-Maniere.com in full-family sizing.
