Previewed earlier this month at Jordan Brand’s grand Los Angeles unveil of the latest game shoe, the new Nike mens air jordan point lane black grey bred retro basketball shoe will be releasing in a handful of fresh colorways new to the line. While the 31 and 32 before it drafted heavily off of their thirty-year prior predecessors, the team behind the shoe had saving kids in store for the 33.
“We really wanted to look beyond, ‘This was the 1, the 2 and the 3,'” reveals designer Tate Kuerbis. “We wanted to look beyond and into the future.”
With a new innovative FastFit laceless lockdown system and a more refined and sharp approach to design, the 33 thankfully takes the brand to a more technical place, earning it a strong reaction since being unveiled. Rather than launch in an expected cement-inspired look hearkening back to the late 1980s, the 33 will be releasing later this fall in what’s been dubbed a “Tech Pack”-informed edition.
The term is short for the detailed pack of technical blueprints for a shoe that designers will compile for their factory counterparts to develop and produce a shoe — hues of red, yellow and blue help to accent a clean black and white contrasting base.
