Known for their artisan approach to denim, Japanese label FDMTL partners with Vans to create a collection of patchwork classics. The craftsmanship of this collection focuses on traditional techniques and FDMTL’s expertise in true blues. 

The collection appears handcrafted as FDMTL creates tweed-like patterns that run across Vans’ Authentic, Slip-on, and Sk8-Hi. With distressed accents and frayed features, this collection embodies the Japanese aesthetic of “Wabi Sabi,” an idea that upholds the beauty in imperfection. As you take a closer look at the details of deep-blue, you’ll advert refined stitches of stars and small dots that peak through the chaos of the patchwork. Thick Shashiko-stitched detailing on the laces and Vans Sidestripe pull everything together to complete the sneakers.
