Following their recent Converse Carhartt Wip x Chuck Taylor All-Star 70 Ox Brown, UNION is now teaming up with Converse for a special collaborative range. As part of the new project, the duo has tapped New York-based interior designer, Sheila Bridges, who is known for her distinct furnishing approach.

Dressing the collaborative UNION x off white x converse the ten chuck are visuals created by Bridges, most notably a depiction of the Harlem Toile. The illustrated scenes spotlight Bridges’ experience of African American culture in her hometown by way of the French toile. “I didn’t ever see myself represented in any of the designs,” shared Bridges in an official press release, “so, I created my own.”

Exhibiting a duality of expression, the toile plays on African-American stereotypes while also celebrating African-American culture — taking the viewer through scenes of subjects jumping rope, playing basketball, dancing, and having picnics, all in 18th-century attire. The collection also features a range of apparel and accessory items.

Look for the UNION x off white x converse the ten chuck to release on October 13 at select retailers and Converse.com.
