There’s always a thought — or better yet a hope — that the current Air Jordan signature will succeed in duality. Sure, on-court the shoe is year in and year out one of the Grey performance models. But will it be relevant off-court where cultural currency is collected?

Nike, perpetually learning from its collaborative partners, outfits this style in a scheme that leans sharply into aesthetics Virgil Abloh introduced with “The Ten.” There’s a lightness to the shoe which juxtaposes Sail, Cone and predominately Vast Grey, finding nuance in muted shades. Compounding factors include lightweight mesh and leather overlays, both of which play Collection on the court and breath sartorially off it.
