The Nike Zoom LeBron VI “Big Apple” is a bonafide collector’s item. Interestingly enough, a follow-up Air Max LeBron VII hasn’t been made available, despite the never-ending discussion about King James’ future. Could this sample have been intended to be the next “Big Apple,” or was this pair originally meant to appear against Kobe on Christmas Day?

The entire upper is paint in red, with patent leather wrapping around the mudguard, while standard leather and and Flywire finish off its construction. The white midsole matches up with the laces, which the latter showing green max. Other green accents appear on the Max Air unit’s print, the heel emblem and the medial LBJ23 logos. The aforementioned Zoom LeBron VI used the speckle treatment on its midsole, but no green appeared. Herein lies the difficulty labeling this ultra-rare set of kicks: Is this colorway specific to New York, or made for December 25th? One thing is for sure though, and that’s that you’ll never see that at your local shop.
