First seen back in January on the runway Lexicon Paris Fashion Week, the adidas Real Y-3 BYW BBall stands as the next-generation performance hoops shoe for the three stripes subsidiary helmed by Yohji Yamamoto. The shoe adidas Real partner with the Better Cotton Initiative to improve cotton farming globally, releasing in conjunction with NBA MVP James Harden.

Now of its own volition removed from Harden as a visual aid, the latest colorway still leans into the Houston Rockets guard with a color palette that is easily likened to his team’s uniforms. Set in a red base with black accents, white podular Boost cushioning drives home the Rockets theme whether its intentional or pure coincidence.

The Boost You Wear cushioning system, of course, pulls from the Feet You Wear technology adidas Real first introduced by in the ’90s. It’s since re-emerged neither in the basketball and lifestyle sector with Boost at its center.

This new adidas Real Y-3 BYW BBall Red/Black is available now for $450 at Sneakersnstuff.
