Referencing the 99x series from the ’90s and its culturally binding aesthetic, New Balance today reveals its upcoming X-90 “Modern Essential” pack due out next month.
Featured in both men’s and women’s styles, the retro-fitted design language is coupled with contemporary allure to bridge the gap between brand heritage and modern-day sensibility. The latter is seen through an engineered knit vamp, asymmetrical collar straps and slip-on fit details around the inner bootie. The shaping itself is more ’90s than anything else from the widened upper down to the performance cushioned midsole.
