The Hundreds recently documented in-depth look at the history behind the upstart BrandBlack basketball footwear brand in cahoots with BB’s founder David Raysse and Creative Director Billy Dill.  Journalist Luis Ruano lead an interview with the men behind the brand to discuss breaking into the basketball sneaker market dominated by Nike, in which they stated BrandBlack is Not Afraid of Nike.

With clean, modern designs, BrandBlack is a brand built upon the importance of premium construction and high-quality materials. “That goes to the philosophy of simplifying the product so that instead of spending the money on lots of one and tricks on the shoes, you can spend the money on materials.”, says Raysse.
