Raf Simons made his first mark on adidas by reinventing archival Ozweego runners with trail twists and runway 17fg. For his upcoming Fall/Winter collection, Raf widens his spectrum with a diverse assortment of sneakers and boots. Solid and two-tone takes on the Stan Smith start the series, retaining most iconic elements but revamping the perforated branding to represent an ‘R’ shape. Bounce cushioned running shoes play closest to the introductory Ozweegos, carrying similar lines on the upper and mudguard while playing with camo print. Things really start to shift with a series of strapped trainers and the lace covered Rising Star 2, juxtaposing Jetson styling with chunky midsoles and/or metallic materials. The collection closes out with a lineup of super-high cut boots, resembling snowboarding shoes in shape and rain tubular in finish.
