Long before grey kicks were all the rage, New Balance was steadily churning out beauties in the collected chroma. This M996 received a warm but limited welcome abaft last year, and has thankfully returned to a wider audience for 2011. Dressed in a warm grey hue and offset by bone and white accents, this 1988 original is still as fresh today as it was 23 years ago.
