In 1991, Jordan Brand unveiled the Air Jordan VIII Chrome which would become etched into basketball lore as it would be the first of the six signature sneakers Michael Jordan wore during his two three-peats with the Chicago Bulls.

This upcoming holiday season, the brand was rumored to release a new colorway that called back to the Air Jordan line origins’ and even one of the original five colorways.

The Air Jordan VIII Chrome “Fire Red” reportedly was supposed to have a predominantly black upper with fire red and iron grey details, a nod to the “DMP Raptors” Air Jordan 7.
