Bad!

Since the 80s, Air Jordan 1 KO’s history has been a mystery. But people believe that KO stands for “Knockoff,” and that this was a way of Nike outwitting their competitors. Whatever the origin of the sneakers might be, this is a great pair that provides good comfort and is an alternative to your standard Jordan sneakers.

The Air Jordan 1 KO is not a “fan favorite” from a reviewer’s pov because people thought (and some still think) that it is actually a knockoff. But it was really Nike’s idea to fight off their competitors by producing a knockoff or copy of their own product.

AJKO vs. AJ1s

At a quick peek, Air Jordan 1 KO appears like the typical pair of Air Jordan 1s. But many sneaker enthusiasts confirmed the noticeable differences:

AJKO

  • Mostly made of canvas
  • Wings logo says “AJKO”
  • The tongue tag and the insoles are marked “Nike”
  • Has a thicker shape that seems “boot-like,” as per one of the reviewers

AJ1s

  • Mostly made of premium leather
  • Wings logo says “Air Jordan”
  • The tongue tag and the insoles are marked “Nike Air.”

Per one of the reviewers, AJKO sneakers are a “suitable replacement” for Jordan 1s, mainly because they are cheaper.

Wide-feet friendly

Many sneakerheads reported that AJKO is true to size. But one tester shared some friendly tips for those who want to cop the sneakers.

  1. Go down half a size if you have narrow feet and want a snug fit
  2. Go true to size if you have narrow feet and want a little bit of toe room, or if you have wide feet and want an exact fit
  3. Go up half a size if you have wide feet and like a little bit of toe room.

Comfortable even without soft cushion insoles

One fan thought that out of all the Jordan pairs, these are the “best Jordans” as he found the canvas material comfortable and “ergonomically shaped.” For another sneakerhead, the sneakers’ padded collars are their best feature.

Furthermore, one mentioned that he could wear them for “quite a long amount of time.” Another has the same sentiment and said that users wouldn’t get the usual “squish feel” cushion in the shoes but can still “rock these all day long” without pain.

Some reviewers believed that the midsoles of the sneakers have a reduced or no air unit at all, making them stiff and firm.

Great for walking

The outsole of the AJKO is not entirely flat but is slightly curved on the heel. As per one of the testers, this feature provides the sneakers “a bit of a roll,” making them “easier to just walk around in” and ideal for daily wear.

Feels durable but still not resistant to creasing

Due to AJKO’s canvas material, reviewers are convinced that the sneakers are durable and last long. However, they are still prone to creasing, as confirmed by one of the testers. He said he wore the sneakers for a few consecutive days, resulting in a “slight crease on the toe box.”

The overall material of the Air Jordan 1 Knockoff is initially stiff, as testers mentioned, but one went ahead and said that they “break in fairly quickly.” Another noted that despite the canvas material’s thick characteristic, it is eventually “gonna give” and “break in a little bit more.”

Dope colorways

Many people revealed that the colorways are one of the main deciding factors in copping a pair. One enthusiast who got the Syracuse version even said that the colorway is the “best thing about this sneaker.”

Other available colorways as of the moment are Chicago, Grey Fog, Storm Blue, Sport Blue, and Bordeaux.

Might not be easy to clean

People cannot stress enough how hard it is to clean canvas sneakers, so they also assume that the AJKO is difficult to clean. If there is one comment to summarize what people thought about canvas, it is “not the material you’d want to get dirty.”
